Leave the noise behind

Noises are all around us, all of the time. Most of them are annoying, stressful and bad for your health. But, if you know where to look, you will find sounds that are good for your wellbeing. The sounds you will hear on a calmcation along the Norwegian Coast are the oposite of  the noises of everyday life. Pleasant, natural, and healing for the mind and body. Take a break — and find your quiet escape with Havila Voyages.

Live noise forecast

Check out today's Noise Forecast and see how the hustle and bustle of cities stacks up against the peaceful silence of the Norwegian coast.

How do we measure noise in Norway?

We have placed weatherproof microphones that record the current noise level every 15 minutes and combine these readings to determine an accurate average. Each device is carefully calibrated for consistency, though minor fluctuations may occur.

How do we forecast noise levels?

Our local forecasts from the Norwegian coast are estimated by mixing daily average noise levels with local wind data. The same formula is used internationally, but use official noise patterns instead of live data. This blend helps us predict noise levels for the days ahead.

The healing sounds of nature

Contrary to the belief that all loud noises are harmful, sounds from natural environments have a profound positive impact on our mental health and well-being. The quality of the sound, rather than its volume, plays a very important role.
